<p>Newport, Ind. - Loren Ray Orndorff, 68, a resident of Meadows Manor East in Terre Haute and formerly of Newport, passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at the Gibson Family Hospice Center in Terre Haute.</p> <p>He was born September 7, 1952 in Danville, Illinois, son of the late Lewis and Elsie (Carter) Orndorff.</p> <p>Loren married Phyllis Ann Myers on June 6, 1987 in Newport, Indiana, and she survives.</p> <p>Other survivors include a brother: Larry (Rachel) Orndorff of Terre Haute, Indiana; and three sisters: Judy (Don) Lee of Ocala, Florida, Anita (Chuck) Allen of Montezuma, Indiana and Patty (Randy) Atterbury of Sandstone, Minnesota.</p> <p>Loren was preceded in death by two brothers: Lyle and Leon Orndorff.</p> <p>Loren had an amazing zest for life and lifted everyone up with his spirit, he was a true blessing. He weathered the storm knowing the Lord was his guide and was leading the way. Loren was an avid music fan and loved to show off his knowledge of song and artist.</p> <p>Visitation: Noon to 2 p.m. EDT Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana. Per Loren&#39;s wishes, cremation will take place following the visitation. DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana is caring for the family.</p>
