Ms. Dorothy Jean "Doris" Bryant

<p><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;"><span style="font-size:18px;"><em><strong>Mrs. Dorothy Jean Bryant </strong></em></span></span>was born March 26, 1941 to the late Mr. George Giles and Mrs. Neil Harvey in Petersburg Virginia. She departed her life September 15, 2020 at home after a long illness.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>She was married to Willie Joe Bryant. They had four loving sons Josh Adonis Bryant, John Wesley Bryant, McKinley Lee Bryant, and Mark Anthony Bryant. She also raised Tone&eacute; and Marylyn Bryant as her own and their love for each other is incomparable. Doris attended Carver High School in Newport News, Virginia. Cooking was one of her many passions. She was employed with paramount restaurants as head chef for many years. Knitting and crocheting was something she was also great at. She was able to earn extra money to help provide for her family. She worked with Newport News Public Schools as a custodian until she retired.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>She was preceded in death by her Father George Gile, her mother Nell Harvey who passed away when she was three years old, her brother George Giles JR. and husband Willie Bryant.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Her amazing life will forever be remembered by her sister and best friend Deloris M. Spady, Her sons and their children Josh &ldquo; lil Josh &ldquo; ,&nbsp; Kenny &ldquo; Kat and Kendra&rdquo;,&nbsp; Wesley &ldquo;Tenika, Kim, Crystal, Jovonda, lil Wesley&rdquo;&nbsp; Tony &ldquo; Tone&eacute;, Tinese, Iyjahna, and Brittany &ldquo;. 28 and a half great grandchildren who the last to be born on her birthday. Three great great grandsons. A very special niece and nephews Kim Darden, Robbie Robinson, and Robbie Harvey. She will also be forever remember by many other relatives, and friends.<br /> Doris Jean our mother sister aunt friend and our grandmother was a loving and kind person. The love she had for her family was unconditional. There wasn&rsquo;t anything she wouldn&rsquo;t do for her kids or anyone else. She was always willing to listen and give fond advice. To know her was to love her. My lady, Our lady , was beautiful inside and out. Not only did she love all there was nothing shy about her love for our father God. She said many hours each day worshipping and listening to gospel music.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>We all miss her dearly but you know God Made no mistake opening his gates on September 15, 2020. She gained her wings and will forever be watching over each of us.<br /> &nbsp;</p> <p>Viewing for Ms. Bryant will be held from noon until 4:00p.m. Sunday, September 20, 2020 at C.C .Carter Funeral Home. Inc.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Services for Ms. Bryant will be held 1:00p.m. Monday, September 21, 2020 at New Hope Baptist Church, Hampton, VA. by Dr. Christopher C. Carter Sr.,&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Interment will follow at Hampton Memorial Gardens.&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>It is the desire of the Bryant&nbsp;&nbsp;family that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>The family of Ms. Dorothy Jean &quot;Doris&quot;&nbsp;Bryant&nbsp;&nbsp;has entrusted her&nbsp;final care to the staff of C.C. To the family of Doris I will miss her. The eating out at our favorite restaurant going to Church and just talking laughing and having fun I will miss. Doris was a lovable and humble person
