Leonard Theodore Richter
April 15, 1931 – September 14, 2020
On Monday, September 14, 2020, Leonard Theodore Richter passed away peacefully at the age of 89 years after a long battle with cancer.
Len leaves behind his wife of 36 years, Florence Harrison, daughter Tammy (Monty) Zaytsoff and family, son Lenny Richter as well as his stepson Dean (Lori) and stepdaughter Deanne (Todd) and their families.
He is survived by his brothers; Arnold (Olga), Vic (Eleanora), sister Gertrude and his stepbrothers and stepsisters. He will be remembered by his beloved grandchildren; Steven, Cody, Jesse (Bradley), Leslie, Kimberly, Nicole, and Samuel, great grandchildren; Paizley and Bennett as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Leonard was predeceased by his parents Carl and Lydia, sister Laura and brother Art.
Len left home at 15 and worked various jobs and had many adventures in his travels throughout Western Canada. He worked hard all of his life, mainly as a journeyman welder, and loved fixing his old cars, puttering around the farm, and coffeeing with the guys.
A memorial will be held at a later date when it is safe to gather. However, if you so desire, please celebrate Leonard’s life by making a donation to the charity of your choice or by planting a tree in his memory.
Len requested that his body be cremated and his ashes spread at the Harrison farm.
No formal services will be held.
