Juanita D. Beck Obituary

Juanita Deloris “Nita” Beck, 80-year-old Vinita resident, passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at her home. She was born on March 13, 1940 in Vinita to Charley and Mabel (Satterwhite) Jones. Juanita went to grade school in Tulsa and Spavinaw, she later attended Jay High School until 11th grade, then finished with her GED. Juanita went to Okmulgee Tech where she learned Upholstery for auto and furniture. She rebuilt a 1965 Ford Mustang, then later in life she went to Northeast Vo-tech in Afton to become a CNA. Her mother taught her to cook and sew, they made quilts together and hand stitched all their clothes. She was taught to farm; hard work was a prominent skill in their household. Juanita married Kenneth E. Bass, they had two boys and two girls, Keith, Anita, Angie, and Kevin. While he was in the Navy, they lived in California and Guam, and wherever the Navy took them. They divorced in 1979, she then married Claude Nurse, he passed away in 1981. In 1989 she married Bobby Beck in Ozark, Arkansas. They worked as ranch hands in Arkansas, Texas, Arizona, and New Mexico. Juanita worked for a hunting outfitter in New Mexico as the camp cook. They retired back in the Vinita are where they could be close to their kids and grandkids. Preceding her in death were her parents, two daughters, Anita Marquis and Angelita Delcour; siblings, Charles Jones, Hazel Butler, Tommy Jones, and Billy Jones. The surviving family includes; husband Bobby Beck of the home; her two sons, Keith Bass and wife Donna of Bartlesville, Kevin Bass and wife Amy of Quapaw; sixteen grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; and a sister, Cheryl Thompson and husband Tommy of Vinita; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. The celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the Emmanuel Church in Vinita.
