Loretta Ann Glover Obituary

Loretta Glover was the second oldest out of 13 siblings, born to Philander William Glover and Bernice Bell on September 12,1949 in Coolidge, Arizona. She moved to Sacramento to live with relatives during her teenage years and attended Grant High School up through 11th grade. But feeling the pull of family, she came back home to complete her senior year at Coolidge High School. After completing school, she went to work at the Arizona Training Center. Loretta made local headlines as she was the first person of color hired at the Randolph Educational Building. She next moved on to work at the Levi Strauss Co., and then the Pinal County Court House. Seeking greater opportunity, Loretta moved to Southern California to work at Occidental, and then Water and Power, before finally settling in with the City of Los Angeles, where she worked for 33 years before retiring. After retiring, she came back home to Arizona, where she resided for 8 years until her passing. Loretta was called home to be with the Lord on September 7th, 2020. She preceded in death by her eldest son, William LaMont Hendrix, her eldest brother, Eugene Rushing, younger brother James (Bodee) Steward, and her parents.
