Doris Louise Feaster

<p>Doris L. Feaster, 99, of Oakland, passed away on Monday, September 14, 2020 at the Goodwill Retirement Community. Born on February 23, 1921 in Ellicott City, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Harry T. and Daisy B. Gerwig.</p> <p>Doris graduated from the University of Maryland School of Nursing with a bachelor&#39;s degree in 1943. She married the love of her life, Dr. James H. Feaster, Jr. on September 23, 1944 and together they raised their family in Oakland. Doris was a member of St. Matthew&#39;s Episcopal Church.</p> <p>Those left to mourn her passing are her three children, James Feaster and wife Julia of Palmer, Alaska, Janice Hudnall and husband Thomas of Leadmine, West Virginia, Barbara Ann Fuller and husband William of Winchester, Virginia; two granddaughters, Amie Fuller and Megan Fuller; five grandsons, James Feaster, Thomas Feaster, David Feaster, Patrick Hudnall and Michael Hudnall; ten great grandchildren, Ben Feaster, Elizabeth Feaster, Emma Feaster, Alyssa Feaster, Brandon Feaster, Aiden Hudnall, Colin Hudnall, Brody Hudnall, Eliana Hudnall and Cameron Hudnall; and one newborn great-great grandson, Ryan. In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. James H. Feaster, Jr.; four siblings, Betty Gerwig, Emma Lacey, Bub Gerwig and Eline Gerwig. She was the last surviving member of her family.</p> <p>A graveside service will be held in Oakland Cemetery on Friday, September 18, 2020 at 1 PM with Rev. Dr. Chip Lee officiating. Face coverings are required and social distancing must be maintained.
