Stanley H. Jackson, 77, of Burlington, died at 9:05 AM Wednesday, September 9, 2020, at the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington, due to complications from Covid-19.

Born November 21, 1942, at his home near Dodgeville, IA, he was the son of Horace "Mike" Hugh and Hazel Marie Thomas Jackson. On December 28, 1963, he married Carol Sue Ruebush at St. John's Catholic Church in Burlington. 

He was a 1960 graduate of Sperry High School. 

Stan was a career truck driver. He drove for several companies including The Benner Tea Company for 18 years and retired in 2005 from Dizco,  Inc after 20 years. 

He was of Catholic faith and was a member of Divine Mercy Parish. He was also a member of the Eagle's club. Stan had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. He enjoyed socializing, spending time with family and friends and going to family reunions. He enjoyed listening to country music and singing along. He also liked to take walks in the parks, play golf with his wife and watch the Chicago Cubs and Bears and auto-racing; especially NASCAR. 

Survivors include his wife, Carol of Burlington; one son, Darren (Christina) Jackson of Lafayette, CO; three grandsons, Taylor, Kyle, Garrett; two sisters, Mary Schultz and  Eunice Stone both of Dodgeville, IA; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Helen Steffener, and three brothers-in-law. 

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.

The Graveside Committal Service for Mr. Jackson will be 10:00 am Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at Sacred Heart Cemetery with Very Rev. Father Marty Goetz officiating. 

Due to concerns regarding COVID-19, attendees will be required to wear face masks and social distance. 

A memorial has been established for St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
