Mr. Joseph William Carter, age 58, passed away  at his home in Charleston, SC.

Joseph was born on January 24, 1962 in Newberry, SC to the late Beaman Carter, Jr. and the late Mary Louise Suber Carter. 

Joseph was a graduate of Newberry High School and attended Allen University.  He attended Miller Chapel AME Church.  He loved to draw and to write poetry.

Surviving includes his sisters, Renee Carter of Columbia, SC and Gladys Hill of Newberry, SC; brother, Donald Carter (Kim) of Lexington, KY; aunt, Donna Maybin (Joe) of Newberry, SC; uncles, Brisco Carter, Sr. (Carrie), Grady Suber (Mary) both of Newberry, SC and Willie Suber, Jr. of South Hill, VA; nieces, Samara Carter of Atlanta, GA;  Natasha Hill, Kaidada Hill and Alexis Hill, all of Newberry, SC; nephews, Tirono Hill of Newberry, SC and Jordan Carter of Ohio; and a host of other relatives and friends.
