Irene Mary Halteman

Irene Mary Halteman, 95, of Beach Park, IL passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 in Kenosha, WI. Irene was born June 22, 1925 in Bessemer, MI to Julius and Lauretta Grabowski. On September 15, 1951, she married Conrad J. Halteman in her hometown of Bessemer. She graduated from College of St. Scholastica with her Bachelor’s Degree and later taught Medical Terminology at College of Lake County in Grayslake. She attended Our Lady of Humility Church and was a member of Our Lady of Humility Women’s Club and Red Hat Society. She also served the church as a Eucharistic Minister. Irene is survived by her beloved husband of 68 years, Conrad J. Halteman; children, Mary (Rick) Ruffolo, Sue (Rich) Plath, Karen (Paul) Delaney, Joe (Takako) Halteman, Bob Halteman and Dave (Erika) Halteman; grandchildren, Nicholas Halteman, Emma Halteman and Mia Halteman; and sister, Ruth Lavoy. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Jim Grabowski and sister, Rita Boley. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 14, 2020 at Our Lady of Humility Church, 10601 W. Wadsworth Rd., Beach Park, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m., Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Ascension Cemetery in Libertyville.
