Duane Donald Ulrich

Duane “Don” Donald Ulrich 89 of Harrison, formerly of Lake, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at Pioneer Golden Estates, Clare, Michigan. Duane was born March 25, 1931 in Detroit, Michigan the son of William and Elise (Puffpaff) Ulrich. After high school graduation, Duane enlisted in the United States Air Force and honorably served his country during the Korean Conflict. On February 25, 1956 in Dearborn, Michigan, Don was united in marriage to Ms. Dolores Kathleen Riedl. Mr. Ulrich retired from General Motors Corporation after thirty-five years of employment as a plant security officer. Don had resided in Lake and Harrison since 1988, moving from Pinckney, Michigan. He was a devote member and usher for St. Luke Lutheran Church, Harrison. Don enjoyed hunting, bowling, golfing, singing, tinkering in his barn and going on multiple cruises with his wife throughout the past years. Don was always very social and could strike up a conversation with anyone he came in contact with. Surviving Mr. Ulrich is his loving wife of sixty-four years, Mrs. Dolores K. Ulrich of Harrison, one son, Michael Ulrich and wife Cindi of Gregory, Michigan, two daughters; Maureen Parrish and husband Bill of White Oak, Texas and Kathleen Nims of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two brothers; Jerry Ulrich and wife Lucy of California and Jim Ulrich and wife Debbie of Arkansas, plus many nieces and nephews. Mr. Ulrich was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters; Elise Ventimiglia and Carol Tunnecliffe. Celebration of Life services honoring Mr. Ulrich will be held Saturday, September 26, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. from St. Luke Lutheran Church, 616 South 4th St., Harrison, Mi. 48625, with Pastor Timothy Sheridan officiating. A time of gathering and sharing of memories will take place on Saturday, September 26, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Inurnment will be at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, Michigan.
