<p>Kathleen Grace Young, 77 of Lake Villa, passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at Northwestern Medical Center in McHenry.</p> <p>She was born on June 28, 1943 to the late and John and Eleanor G. (Myrtle) Hughes in Chicago, Illinois.</p> <p>Kathleen is survived by her son Sean D. Young (Mike Daugherty) her sister Betty Hughes, her nephews, John (Lisa) & Joesph Guagliardo & Zach Gilbertson, and her cousin Linda Alpers.</p> <p>She was preceded in death by her sisters Barbara Bush & Iris Guagliardo.</p> <p>Kathleen managed to raise her son on her own, while maintaining a full-time career as a Mechanical Engineer for Avon for over 30 years.</p> <p>Often nicked named “Kitch” by friends & family, she especially appreciated the company of her neighbors, Lavonda Smith, as well as Damon & Diane Depree. </p> <p>She kept a childlike glint & sense of wonder throughout her life. She loved life, travel, boating, and flying private aircraft. Even as a free & adventurous spirit, she always put the needs of others before her own. Especially with her family, as they were the most important thing in her life.</p> <p>Inurnment will be at Warren Cemetery. Memorial services to be determined after Illinois gathering restriction are lifted.</p>Obituary
