Amy Burns

Amy Ellen Burns, daughter of Douglas Alan and Rhonda Faye Moore Wilson, was born, March 21, 1980 in Davenport, Iowa. She departed this life, Wednesday, September 9, 2020, in Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach, Missouri at the age of forty years, five months and nineteen days. On May 3, 1997 in Ira Missionary Baptist Church, she was united in marriage to Dusty Burns and to this union five children were born. Together they shared twenty-three years of marriage. She was preceded in death by her mom; her mother-in-law, Vicky Leffert and her grandparents. Survivors include her husband, Dusty of the home; her five children, Kevin Burns and wife Erica of Eldridge, Missouri, Jesse Burns and wife Leann of Camdenton, Missouri, Noah, Caleb and Mikayla Burns all of the home; her granddaughter, Summer; her dad, Douglas Wilson; her siblings, Bryan Wilson and wife Linda, Jake Wilson and wife Megan and Dougie Wilson and wife Tina all of Eldridge, Missouri; her father-in-law, Donnie Leffert; her brother-in-law, Allen Leffert and wife Lisa and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Amy was raised in Eldridge, Missouri and had attended Lebanon High School. Dusty and Amy met when she was sixteen and knew it was love at first sight. Amy was saved at an early age at Ira Missionary Baptist Church and was a member of Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church. She was very active in her church in every way. She was a devoted preacher’s wife. She loved teaching and spreading the word of God to everyone. In her spare time, she enjoyed going to thrift shops and antique stores. She had a passion for anything outdoors especially working in her flowers and going camping. She loved to cook and everyone loved all the dishes that she made. She could always be found with a Dr. Pepper. Amy’s family always came first. Amy has touched many with her kind and loving ways. She was a loving wife, mom, grandma, daughter, sister, daughter-in-law, sister-in-law, aunt and was a caring and giving neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will treasure the memories she created for her family and friends. We know that heaven has gained a beautiful angel that will always be watching over her family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 13, 2020, in Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church, Camdenton, Missouri. Burial will follow in the Burns Family Cemetery, Camdenton. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Saturday, September 12, 2020 in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to a fund that has been established and left at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton, Missouri.
