Jerry D. Lieber, 67, of Syracuse, passed away on Friday, September 4, 2020 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse. Born in Rome on September 6, 1952, he was a son of the late John and Dolores (Dean) Lieber. He was a 1971 graduate of Oriskany High School. Jerry was a corrections officer with the Oneida County Sheriff's Department for 25 years. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and camping. He visited several countries on various trips all over the world. He was a big sports fan and the Chicago White Sox and Boston Bruins were among his favorite teams. Jerry is survived by his loving family of two sisters, Nancy Miner (Robert Clark) and Linda Lieber; four brothers, John (Dianne), Michael (Marcia), James and Thomas (Nancy) Lieber; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 11th at 11:00 a.m. at Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome. Interment will take place in Evergreen Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Thursday, September 10th from 4-6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Jerry’s memory to Crossroads, 120 Gifford St., Syracuse, NY 13202.
