SOUTH HAMILTON – Francis H. Perry, 87, of South Hamilton, formerly of Essex, passed away Wednesday morning, September 9, 2020 at home. He was the beloved husband of Barbara Raymond. Born in Beverly, he was the son of the late Archie and Rita (Goulden) Perry. He was a graduate of Beverly High School with the class of 1952. He furthered his education and earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Lowell. An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country during the Korean War as a member of the United States Navy. Mr. Perry had been employed as a Research Engineer for MIT Lincoln Laboratory in Lexington for fifty-six years. He was a member of the American Legion Post #113 in Manchester-by-the-Sea and the Elks Lodge #892 in Gloucester for many years. In addition to his wife Barbara, he is survived by three daughters, Kim Field and her husband Sean of Manchester-by-the-Sea, Kathy Stewart and her husband Rick of Pembroke, NH and Joyce Osgood and her husband Al of Fremont, NH; two sons, Michael Perry and his wife Anne of Stratham, NH and Glenn Perry and his wife Maria of Danvers; twelve grandchildren, Ryan Field, Molly Field, Elizabeth & Mike Carignan, Ricky & Chris Stewart, Michael Perry, Jr., Lauren Perry, Christine Piccola, Jeff & Savannah Osgood, Greg Osgood, Alex Osgood, Christopher Perry and Nicole & Elliot Chefitz; five great grandchildren, Alexis, Jacob & Matthew Carignan, Charlotte “Charley” Stewart and Sophia Piccola and many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by two brothers, Emory Perry and Cliff Perry. Visiting hours at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly on Friday, September 11, 2020 from 1-4 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Please wear a face coverings and practice social distancing while at the funeral home. Interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations in Francis’ name may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
