Sherry Kathleen Cook

Sherry (Cavazos) Pizana Cook, 66, formerly of Hillsboro & Whitney, Texas was called Home on Wednesday September 9, 2020. Sherry was born in Cleburne, Texas on December 23, 1953 to Manuel and Carol Cavazos; as a twin to her sister Mary (Cavazos) Felan. She, along with her 4 sisters and 3 brothers were raised in Itasca and Hillsboro. Sherry married David Pizana, who preceded her in death, and was blessed with sons, David and Joe Pizana. She later remarried and was blessed with daughter, Jamie Cook and son, James Cook. She was also blessed with 3 grandchildren, Julian and Claudia and Braiden Pizana. Sherry’s career was always in the medical field. From one of her very first jobs, until when she recently took a break from work; her heart was in nursing care. She loved caring for those in need, and to spread love wherever she was planted. Sherry recently relocated to the DFW area, but before that was an active member and Sunday school teacher at First United Pentecostal Church in Hillsboro, Texas. Sherry was a true woman of God, loved The Lord, and is now Home. Sherry is now walking the streets of gold with her parents, brothers Joe & Johnny Cavazos, her sister Barbara (Cavazos) Molina, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at Cornerstone Funeral Home, 301 W. Elm Street, Hillsboro, Texas 76645. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, September 17, 2020 in the chapel of Cornerstone Funeral Home followed by private interment services at Ridge Park Cemetery, Hillsboro, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Cornerstone Funeral Home, 301 W. Elm Street, Hillsboro, Texas 76645.
