Jeanne Marie Allar, age 73, of Red Wing, Minn. passed from this world on August 31, 2020. Born December 13, 1946, Jeanne was the eldest daughter of Quirin and Marcella Thums and grew up in Medford, Wisconsin. Jeanne married Wayne Allar where they together led an adventurous and fulfilling life for the next 54 years. Jeanne had a strong love for nature as displayed through her care for animals and gardening. Jeanne was well known for anything that came out of her kitchen as it was made with love and caring. She also greatly enjoyed visiting with family and friends.
Jeanne is survived by her beloved husband Wayne; their children Lisa (John) Bowen and Scott Allar; grandchildren Nicholas and Gabrielle Bowen, and Cole Allar; and her many siblings and their spouses Russell (Barbara) Thums, Nancy (Alan) Huther, Peggy (Alan) Hraby, Donna (Randy) Zenner, Jim (Norma) Thums, Marsha (Tom) Klingbeil, Bill (Gayle) Thums, Sue (Doug) Handel, Lori Thums; and in-laws Mary Ann Allar, Barb (Dave) Lucht. Jeanne is preceded in death by her beloved parents Quirin and Marcella Thums, in-laws Raymond and Florence Allar, and brother-in-law Gordon Allar.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. and a Mass of Resurrection will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2020 at The Church of St. Joseph, 435 W 7th Street, Red Wing. Masks are expected and can be provided by the church if you do not have your own. A Gathering and Family and Friends will take place thereafter; details will be provided at the time of the service. In memory of Jeanne, memorials may be directed to the Animal Humane Society or Jeanne would ask that you remember someone in need of kindness that only a friend could offer and be that friend to them.
