Evanell Florence Kowalski Obituary

Evanell F. (Thompson) Kowalski, 92, Superior, died September 4, 2020. She was born on September 13, 1927 in Mora, MN to Carl and Hattie C. (Peterson) Thompson and she was a longtime Superior resident. She graduated from the former Superior Central High School. Evanell had been employed as a Customer Service Representative for Northern City and First Bank, now known as US Bank. She married Michael Kowalski on October 26, 1946 and celebrated 59 years of marriage before he passed away on February 28, 2006. Evanell was a longtime active member of the Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church and Saint Francis Altar Society and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court 1190. She was also a member of the Holy Assumption Quilters, the Red Hat Society, Four Corners Crafters, the Saint Francis Travelers and Pilgrim Lutheran Quilters. Evanell was also associated for over twenty-five years with Retired Bankers from Northern City National Bank in Duluth. She is survived by her sister, Eileen E. Venier and six nieces, Deborah Johnson, MaryAnnette Quinnell, Patricia Hardman, Donna Shaw, Elizabeth Wade, and Amanda Mann: three nephews, Daniel J. Venier, Carl Thompson, and Tony Thompson, and many grand and great-grand nieces and nephews. Being an Auntie was her favorite thing in life. Evanell’s family included the very special people in her life: best friend Doris E. Johnson, companions Vern and May Nordling, the Martineau and Gronski families, and the Quinnell family. Evanell’s family would like to thank the loving care provided to Evie by Our House of New Richmond and Adoray Hospice. Evie will be missed on earth as she reunites in heaven with all of her loved ones. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Superior. The Cremation Society of Wisconsin is assisting the family at this time.
