Mary A Di Leo Obituary

Mary A. DiLeo of Brewster, NY (formerly Mary Lancelli of White Plains, NY) passed away on September 5, 2020 at the age of 87. She was born on January 20, 1933 in White Plains to Giovanni and Caterina Lancelli. She was raised in White Plains and graduated from White Plains High School in 1951.


On July 28, 1953, Mary married the love of her life, Joseph R. DiLeo and they just recently celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary. Mary was the beloved mother of her three children: David (Janet) DiLeo of White Plains, NY, Dianne (Joe) Funigiello of Brewster, NY and Michelle (Geoff) Sawyer of Brewster, NY. She was the beloved Mimi to grandchildren, David (Christine), Joseph (Sara), Christina (Vincent) and Danielle and to great-grandchildren, Isabella, Julia, Thomas, Riley, Sophie and Kylie.


Mary was the oldest of three children and is predeceased by her parents, step-father (Marcello Barbaro) and two brothers, Albert Lancelli and Frank Barbaro. She was also the beloved sister-in-law to Roger DiLeo and Aunt and Godmother of many nieces and nephews.


Mary had a passion for singing and was a long-time member of the Golden Apple Chorus, a regional barbershop chorus of Sweet Adelines International. She was a kind and gentle soul who will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
