Funeral services celebrating the life of Grover Cleveland Johnson will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 9, 2020, at Trinity Baptist Church. Reverend Darryl Hoychick and Reverend Kevin Roberts will be officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park under the direction of Hixson Brothers, Alexandria. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Pallbearers honored to serve will be the Deacons of Trinity Baptist Church. Grover Cleveland Johnson, 81, of Pineville, passed from this life on Saturday, September 5, 2020, at his residence. Grover proudly served our country in the United States Marine Corp. During his working life he was an Accountant in the Oil and Gas Industry. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, Pineville where he was a Deacon Emeritus and taught the Men’s Sunday School Class. Grover enjoyed reading, journaling and giving good advice. He loved his family, especially his grandkids and his dog Gus. Grover was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who was dearly loved and will never be forgotten. He was preceded in death by his son, Robert Cleveland Johnson; his parents, Grover C. and Gertrude Hickman Johnson and his brother, John Robert Normand. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Dorothy Walker Johnson; son, Russell Johnson and wife, Krystal; daughter, Laura Melder; daughter in law, Tanya Johnson; grandchildren, Alan Melder, Kara Johnson, Sydney Melder, Kamryn Johnson, Sophia Johnson, Lila Johnson and Brileigh Johnson; sister, Shirley Ann Mitchell and a host of other family members and friends.
