Robert Wayne Murphree, age 54, of Sanford, NC, died unexpectedly, Saturday, September 5, 2020 at Central Carolina Hospital.

He was born in Jefferson County, Alabama on July 28, 1966 to the late Donald “Don” Barney Murphree and Mary Jean Land Murphree.  Wayne worked for Donathan Pumping Service was a larger-than-life man who loved to paint and make art.  He never met a stranger and loved to socialize.

He is survived by his siblings Donald Russell Murphree of Sanford, Katherine Anne Murphree and husband James Alden Ostrander of Cameron, Donna Murphree Bodenhamer and husband David of Sanford; nieces and nephews Christine Murphree, Damian Murphree, Charli McCracken and husband Noah, Gaberiel Bodenhamer, Heather Murphree, Jason Murphree and great-nieces and nephews Damian and Elanor Murphree.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.
