George Daniel "Danny" Michau

George Daniel “Danny” Michau, 79, widower of Peggy Sue (Garner) Michau and Phyllis Mae (Barnett) Garrison-Michau, of Tiffany Drive, Waynesboro, passed away Saturday, September 5, 2020 at the Piedmont Hospice House in Charlottesville. Mr. Michau was born in Darlington, South Carolina on October 17, 1940, a son of the late William Taft Michau, Sr. and Eloise (Pruett) Michau. Danny was an active member of Memorial Baptist Church and was a Pharmacist, working with various area hospitals. Danny was a man of strong faith who loved his family unconditionally and he cared for others, putting their needs before himself. He enjoyed listening to all types of music, and he enjoyed watching NASCAR, golf and movies. In addition to his parents and wives, Danny was preceded in death by a son, Neil Daniel Michau and a brother, William Taft “Dub” Michau, Jr. Surviving is a son, Kerry Todd Michau of Richmond, Virginia; a daughter, Pamela Trapani of Waynesboro, Virginia; a step-son, Mark L. Garrison of Staunton, Virginia; a step-daughter, Barbara G. Kastner and her husband Fred of Cary, North Carolina; eight grandchildren, Joseph Hudson, Allison Wright, Miranda Michau, Michael Garrison, Jill Panichelli and her husband Scott, Cory Garrison and his wife Megan, Brandon Garrison, and Jesse Garrison; five great grandchildren, Alexandra and Nathan Panichelli, Vivian, Beck, and Sadie Garrison; and a number of nieces and nephews. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 from 12:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory. A Graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 10, 2020 in Thornrose Cemetery by Pastor Mark W. Jones. (Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, all current guidelines and restrictions will be followed.) It is suggested those desiring make memorial contributions to the Memorial Baptist Church Building Fund, 224 Taylor Street, Staunton, Virginia 24401 or to the Hospice House of the Piedmont, 501 Park Street, Charlottesville, Virginia 22902. Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton, is in charge of his arrangements.
