Mrs. Virgie L. Sims
<p>Mrs. Virgie Lee Sims was born May 3, 1947 in Norfolk, VA to the late James Lee Draper and Clementine Hardy – Wilson. Virgie was called to her heavenly home on September 5, 2020 in Suffolk, VA. She was preceded in death by her father, mother and her husband/best friend Hollis E. Sims.</p> <p> </p> <p>Virgie was the second eldest of her immediate family that always kept everyone together with God’s agape love. Virgie graduate from Booker T. Washington and E.C.P.I. She worked as an administrative field until her retirement.</p> <p> </p> <p>Everyone who knows her well, knew that she loved her children Valerie and Terrell. She shared with them that her best job was being a mother, grandmother and great – grandmother.</p> <p> </p> <p>Left to forever cherish her memories are her children Valarie Brickhouse & Terrell Brickhouse (Melissa); sisters Annie Pate, Regina Hillman, Amanda Trotter; brother Michael Wilson. Her legacy also includes eight (8) grandchildren and six (6) great – grandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.</p> <p> </p> <p>Viewing for Mrs. Sims will be held two hours prior to service Thursday, September 10, 2020 at New Hope Baptist Church.</p> <p> </p> <p>Services for Mrs. Sims will be held 1:00p.m. Thursday, September 10 , 2020 at New Hope Baptist Church 1415 Big Bethel Rd. Hampton, VA. by Dr. Christopher C. Carter Sr., </p> <p> </p> <p>Entombment will be held Saturday, September 12, 2020 at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Columbus, OH.</p> <p> </p> <p>It is the desire of the Sims family that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.</p> <p> </p> <p>The family of Mrs. Virgie L. Sims has entrusted her local care to the staff of C.C. Carter Funeral Home, Inc. and final care to Marlan Gary Funeral Home, North Chapel.
