Acey John Fruge, Jr.

New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 10:00 am on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church or Acey John Fruge, Jr., 80, who passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2020 in New Iberia. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Garrett Savoie will be the Celebrant. A gathering of family and friends will be at Pellerin Funeral Home from 8:00 am until 9:30 am on Tuesday. A rosary will be prayed at 9:00 am. Acey was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana on December 25, 1939 to the late Acey Fruge Sr. and Daisy Foster Fruge. He proudly served our country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Era. Mr. Fruge retired from Texaco, Inc. with 30 years of service. He was also a carpenter and cabinet builder. A loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, father-in-law, son, and friend, he will be deeply missed. Mr. Fruge is survived by his loving wife, Diana Darby Bellow Fruge; sons, James Bellow, Jr. of New Iberia, and Troy Fruge and wife Annette of New Iberia; grandchildren, Jeremy and Jared Bellow, and Paislee Fruge; step-grandchildren, Victoria, Alexa and Gabby Gaudet; and a great-grandchild, Stratton Hargrave. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Chet Bellow; and a sister, Alma Fruge. Pallbearers are Chad Darby, Mitch Darby, Randy Hernandez, Russ Hernandez, Donny Armentor, and Lane Armentor. The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Dr. G.D. Sagrera and staff; the wonderful staff of Acadian Hospice; Laura Brown; Karie Faircloth; Dorine; Rachael; Chaplain Ken David, and countless others for your extraordinary care and compassion.
