Rev. Arlace Lee Duncan Obituary

Rev. Arlace Lee Duncan, 88, went home to be with Jesus on September 5, 2020. Rev. Duncan was born in Gum Fork, Tennessee but raised in Louisville, Kentucky, and was a true Kentuckian at heart. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. As a minister for 59 years, he dedicated his life to spreading the love of God and in doing so touched the lives of hundreds of parishioners, many of whom are still close friends to this day. In addition to pastoring churches, he served many years as the General Chairman of the National Association of Holiness Churches and over twenty years as treasurer for the Indiana Interchurch Holiness Convention. As a veteran of the Korean War, he faithfully served his country and his God. Rev. Duncan’s Christian legacy lives on in his family. His beautiful and long-lasting marriage to Betty Lou Duncan is a further testament of who he was. Married on September 13, 1952, the two would have celebrated 68 years of marriage this month—a marriage built on everlasting love for each other and their Lord.

A few short months ago, Rev. Duncan was preceded in death by, and now reunited with, his beloved wife, Betty Lou. He is also preceded in death by his brothers Jay and Wendall Duncan and sister Betty Harp. He is survived by his son Kenton L. Duncan (Lorraine), daughter Debra K. Gumbiner (David), son Kurt A. Duncan (Angela), and sister Pearl Cunningham, along with grandchildren Kristin, Kara, Nathan (Allyson), Jordan (Samantha), Jamie (Chris), Krysta, Kevin, Cameron, Brent, Justin, and Emily, and his beloved great-grandchildren.
