James Bryan Martin

James Bryan Martin, age 90, passed away peacefully September 1st, 2020 surrounded by family. Born in Chattanooga in 1930, he was a lifelong resident of Lookout Mountain, Tennessee. Jim was affectionately known to many of his close friends as "Stud". Stud was a former partner at Stark-Martin Distributing Company and most recently owner of AGT Office Furniture Distributors and was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd. He attended Lookout Mtn Elementary, McCallie School, City High, and the University of Mississippi. His military career in the army consisted of service in Japan and Korea. Stud was a long standing member of the Lookout Mtn Fairyland Club, where he was known to act up on occasion. Stud was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Mary Willingham Martin, his parents, W.A. Martin and Mary M. Martin, and brothers John M. "Jack" Martin and William A. Martin. He is survived by his three sons, Bryan Martin (Kim), Jay Martin (Evelyn), and Calder Martin (Amy), as well as five grandchildren and one great grandchild. Due to Covid 19, a private service will be held in the Memorial Garden at Good Shepherd Church. A celebration of life gathering will follow at the family home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jim's name to Hearth Hospice, 513 Georgia Ave. Chattanooga Tn 37403 Arrangements are by Wann Funeral Home and Cremation Center (423) 821-7551.
