Emilio Gonzalo Martinez passed away at home on August 28, 2020 at the age of 91 while surrounded by prayer and his loving family

Emilio was affectionately know as "Chalo", dad, grandpa, brother, uncle and cousin to family and friends.  He was born is San Ysidro, NM on April 12, 1929 to Federico and Delfinia Martinez.  He attended school in Ponderosa, NM and graduated from El Rito High School.  He served four years in the United States Navy.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lena; his parents, brothers, Orlando, Salvador, Eugene, Anselmo, Adelberto and Patrick; sisters, Bunella May and Mary Lou.

Emilio is survived by his children, Yolanda Chavez and husband Lawrence, Fred Martinez and wife Lydia, and Michael Martinez and wife Bettye; grandchildren, Lawrence, Emiliano, Reyes, Casey, Jed and Wyatt.  Also surviving are brother, Gary and wife Mary; sisters, Marcella Bronson and Dolores Paredes.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, September 11, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Child Catholic Church, 19 Camino del Santo Nino, Tijeras, NM 87059. Inurnment will take place at 1:30 p.m. at Mount Calvary Cemetery.  Masks are required.
