<p>Gregory Charles Watkins Jr., better known as Greg, 37, of Peoria, IL transitioned from this life to his eternal home at 2:10 pm on Sunday, August 30, 2020 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington, IL.</p> <p>The third eldest of four children, Greg was born on October 3, 1982 in Milwaukee, WI to Donna Shird and Gregory Watkins Sr. He attended Woodruff High School.</p> <p>Greg spent his years with a passion for football, particularly the Green Bay Packers, playing chess, and spending time with family and friends.</p> <p>Greg leaves to cherish his most precious memories his loving mother, Donna of Peoria; his secondary-mother, Miss Betty Duncan of St. Louis, MO; three siblings, Erica Shird of Peoria, Elisha (Jabbar) Williams-Thomas of Decatur, GA, Chris (LaShownda) Watkins Sr. of Phoenix, AZ, and Tacarra Smith of Chicago; five nephews; three nieces; one great-niece; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who all loved him and will miss him dearly.</p> <p>Cremation rites have been accorded.
