Eulogia Sanchez Galvan

March 11, 1929 – September 1, 2020

 

Eulogia Sanchez Galvan (nicknamed Loqui by family and Ellie by friends) a resident of San Jose, CA was born in Santo Thomas, New Mexico on March 11, 1929 to Sebastian and Maria Sanchez.  She died peacefully on September 1, 2020 in her home surrounded by her family.  She is now at home in Heaven with her father, mother, five sisters and one brother who preceded her in death (she was the middle child and last surviving sibling).  Her daughter, Carolyn Esparza, preceded her in death in 2018.

 

She is survived by her beloved husband of 70 years Geoel (Jess) and three daughters Sylvia (Paul) van Diemen of Morgan Hill, Berta Galvan of San Jose and Julie (Mark) Williams of Chico.

 

Being with her family gave Eulogia her greatest joy.  She especially loved being with her five grandchildren Cyndi (Chris) Garcia, Christy Esparza, Nicole (Luke) Machado, Raquel (Adrian) Lash, and Daniel (Ashley) Williams; eleven great grandchildren Alyssa Soliz, Laura (Mark) Yamanaka, Julianne Soliz, Andrea Soliz, Jacob Soliz; Jeana Garcia, Wesley Machado, Rory Machado, Jaxson Williams, Victoria Williams and Cali Rae Lash and two great-great grandchildren Amayah Monrreal, and Ellie Yamanaka. She was close to her many nieces and nephews.

 

Eulogia will always be remembered for her gracious sparkling smile and laughter!

 

Services:

On Tuesday, September 15, 2020, from 8:00 to 11:30 a.m. a viewing will be held at Darling & Fischer Garden Chapel, 471 E. Santa Clara St., San Jose.  A Rosary from 12:00 to 12:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe, 2020 E. San Antonio St., San Jose, followed by a Memorial Mass at 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.  A private graveside service will be held at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Please note: Darling & Fischer and Our Lady of Guadalupe are limiting 60 people to attend.

 

A celebration of her life will be held when we can safely gather.  Flowers are welcome.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Eulogia’s memory to Catholic Charity, 2625 Zanker Rd, San Jose CA 95134.  Website:
