Mary "Shirley" Dehart Conroe, Texas Obituary

Mary "Shirley" Dehart

Mary Shirley Dehart, 76 years young, passed on from this life on September 1, 2020 at Memorial Hermann Hospital of The Woodlands. Mary was born May 1, 1944 in Cameron, Texas to parents: Beuford Arnold Coates and Mary Celia Shafer Coates. She married Johnny Junior Dehart on June 22, 1963 and they lived in Houston, Texas where they later had 3 daughters and finally a son, who she had long prayed for. Mary received the Lord as her Savior at a young age in Alvin,Texas and heard the audible voice of God when she was a teenager. She heard the Lord say, "Shirley, where are you going!" So, she went to several churches in the Houston area, including Kilgore and Huntsville learning about God and learning how to love others as He did. She loved going to church, on mission trips and loved leading people to the Lord. She also loved hanging out with family members, siblings, her children, grandchildren and her many friends, where many memories were made full of laughter and smiles that are now the gifts she has left behind for all to remember and share over and over till we all meet again. Mary was such a loving and sweet person who was loved by many. She never met a stranger and was always friendly and sweet, so much so that if you ever needed a place to stay, you were always welcomed in her home. If you ever needed help, she would do all she could to be that helping hand you needed. She loved eating Burger King hamburgers and loved collecting pens. So, if you had a pen that she liked, she may have asked for it or snuck it from you :) She also loved Elvis and liked to fish. She is survived by her children: Kimberly Dehart, Linda and Paul Figueroa, Dwanna Dehart, Johnny Junior II and Cindy Dehart; siblings: Beverly Dempsey, B.A Coates, Donald Coates, Ruby Craine, Jimmy Coates; grandchildren: Darrel, John and Clint Farr, Dalton Wood, Chad and Kelly Murski, Cameron and Elijah Worthington, Nathan and Natalie Wood; great-grandchildren: Andy, Nalia, Bailey, Levi, Oakleigh, Riley, Ashton, Rosalee and Bayleigh; along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many countless friends. Mary is preceded in death by her husband: Johnny Junior Dehart and parents: Beuford and Mary Coates. She will be remembered and missed by all who knew her!
