Estelle Talbert Poole, 90, of Lucedale, MS, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours on Tuesday, September 1, 2020, surrounded by her loving family. She was born February 4, 1930, to Jake and Bessie Talbert of Kosciusko, MS. Estelle attended Barton Baptist Church in Lucedale, MS, was a member of the Eastern Star and a head cashier for Fred’s in Pascagoula, MS for 17 years. She was known to many as mom or mamaw, taking care of anyone who needed a bed or a good home-cooked meal. Estelle loved the color red, spending time with her family, cooking, going out to eat crab legs or Popeye’s chicken. She made everyone in her presence feel loved with her smile that was priceless, but she gave it for free. Estelle is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 56 years, Tommie “Junior” Poole; son, Jimmy Ward; great-grandson, Matthew Parker; brothers, Auburn Talbert, Les Talbert, WT Talbert, and Charles Talbert; sisters, Paulette Bounds and Bonnie Lou Morganson. She is survived by her sons, Thomas (Pansy) Poole and Dale (Karen) Poole; daughter, Dianne (Butch) Boren; grandchildren, Shawn (Billy) Johnson, Teffany (Jerry) McGarity, Rusty (Brandi) McMahan, Alan (Patricia) Poole, Thomas Jr. (Ashley) Poole, Brandy (Sam) Parker, Bridget Rogers, Hawk Weir, Michael (Tiffany) Rice, Shannon (Cara) Poole, and Jason (Courtney) Poole; great-grandchildren, Ashton (Blayne) Pope, Will Johnson, Cade Johnson, Jessica McGarity, Julie McGarity, Janice McGarity, Caleb Poole, Claire Poole, Eden Poole, Jacob Coe, Savanah Coe, Kendall McMahan, Cherish (Adam) Burnett, SJ Parker, Luke Parker, Carlyle Rogers, Chelsea Rogers, Jenna Poole, Jax Poole, Audrey Estelle Poole, Halle Poole, Kyli Wier, Chance Wier, Grayson Morris, Hunter Morris, Colbie Rice and Brynnlee Rice; and 3 great, great-grandchildren; along with other family and friends. The Poole family would like to extend a special thank you to William and Viola Talbert and Sissy Gambone for all their help. A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2020, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home in Moss Point, MS. The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel beginning at 12 noon with Mike Rice officiating. Interment will be held at Salem Carter Cemetery in Lucedale, MS. Due to the concerns surrounding COVID-19, a face mask is required to attend the service. The funeral home staff may limit the number of visitors in the building at any given time.
