Bernice Fay Leavitt

Bernice Fay Leavitt passed away at the Innisfail Health Centre on Sunday, August 30, 2020 at the age of 82 years. Bernice was born at Innisfail, Alberta on May 9, 1938. She took her schooling in Innisfail and went on to work as a Teller, at the Alberta Treasury Branches in Edmonton and Innisfail. Bernice was also employed at Winners Liquor Store, Mr. B's and The Innisfail Golf Course. Bernice, or ‘Weezie’ as most knew her, was a feisty woman with a strong will and beliefs. She was never shy about sharing her opinion about politics, or any other debate issues. Bernice could be tough and stern, but was known as a real character with her dry humor, and quick wit. Bernice loved golfing and spending time with the ladies golf group, she was proud of getting a Hole-In-One at the Innisfail Golf Course, on Aspen No. 5. Bernice also enjoyed socializing with all the ladies in Poplar Grove and looked forward to any family gatherings. Although Bernice was not a big traveler, she did get to experience most of Canada, and a few other vacation trips, but her highlight trip was with her siblings to visit their ancestral origins in Scotland. Bernice will be lovingly remembered by her son, Larry (Mona) Leavitt; her sister, Shirley Kot, her sister, Gwen Park (Paul Dittrick), her sister, Cathy (Tom) Goett; her brother John (Rita) Park, granddaughters, Erin (Kreg) Hansen, and Kendra Leavitt and her great grandsons, Blake and Brody Hansen. She will also be sadly missed by numerous nieces and nephews. Bernice was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Catherine Park, a sister, Audrey Fox, a brother, Norman Park and a nephew, Doug Kot. Bernice will be dearly missed by all those who knew her.
