John Brown
<p>John W. Brown, 85, of Cozad, Nebraska, died August 28, 2020 in Cozad, NE. </p> <p>He was born June 5, 1935 son of Onie and Mae Brown. John spent most of his life in Nebraska and later years in Cozad.</p> <p>He loved spending time with his horses, fishing, going to the casino and to the grocery store. John never met a stranger and loved visiting with everyone, including on the CB radio where he was known as the "white haired man". He loved to spend time in the park with his beloved dog Bookie. In his last 10 years of his working career he was a HBAC maintenance supervisor in the Gilbert Arizona School System. </p> <p>Survivors include wife, Elaine J Brown of Cozad, NE; three sons, Anthony (Monica) Brown, Paul (Tommie) Brown, Youl (Callie) Brown; three daughters, Maria (Bill) Hamburger, Charlotte (Don) Stumpf, Patty Jo (Kevin) Bice; 16 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren, and two brothers, Charles and Harold Brown.</p> <p>John was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Violet, Viola, Josie, Alberta, and Nettie, brothers, Howard and Rollie, grandson, Creighton Hamburger, granddaughters Addison and Scarlett Stumpf.</p> <p>Graveside services will be held at the Gothenburg Cemetery, Friday, September 4, 2020 at 11:00 am with Pastor Larry Viter officiating.</p> <p>Memorials may be given to the City of Cozad parks department for the park where John loved to spend time with his dog Bookie.</p>Obituary
