Lauriston McDonnough Obituary

Lauriston A. McDonnough, 82, of Henrico, passed away January 22, 2017. He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Danae Fleming and two brothers, Glen and Robert McDonnough. Surviving are his devoted wife of 60 years, Naina; children, Kaestner McDonnough (Jackie), Althea McDonnough, Lalise Vaughan (John) and Arlene McLean (Michael); eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; brother, Graham McDonnough (Gertrude); sisters, Marva Flowers and Meghan Taylor; countless nieces, nephews; two brothers-in-law, Selvin Lewis (Icyline) and Keith Lewis (Hazel) and many friends. Billy served in the Jamaica Defense Force and was a founding member of the Jamaica Coast Guard. After immigrating to the U.S. in 1969 he worked with New York Telephone Company, which became Verizon and retired after 24 years. Over the years, Billy was a faithful servant at Meadowbridge Seventh Day Adventist Church, serving as a deacon, groundskeeper and senior choir member. Remains rest at Scott'sFuneral Home, 115 E. Brookland Park Blvd., where the family will receive friends from 4 to 5:45 p.m. on Friday, January 27. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 28, at Meadowbridge Seventh Day Adventist Church, 7400 Antique Lane, Mechanicsville, Va. 23116. Pastor Alex Barrientos officiating. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery.
