Roy Eugene Morgan

Roy Eugene Morgan, age 71, of Centerville, passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at Centerville Specialty Care.

Roy was born on July 28, 1949, the son of Lawrence and Rose (Rogers) Morgan.  He graduated from Albia High School.  In February of 1970, Roy was united in marriage to Linda Kae Snook.  To this union, three children were born, Jodi, Marlene and Tammy.  The couple later divorced. 

Roy worked at Maytag in Newton for many years.  He also worked for Excel in Ottumwa for a period of time.  Roy enjoyed fishing, attending horse races and playing Bingo.  He was a believer in Christ, and loved spreading the Word of God.  Most importantly, Roy cherished his family, and looked forward to spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

Left to honor Roy’s memory are his children, Jodi (Terry) Morelock of Centerville, Marlene (Jeffrey Morelock) Morgan of Centerville, and Tammy Rick of Oskaloosa; a brother, Ray Morgan of Des Moines; 10 grandchildren, Ashley Morgan, Heather (Travis) Egbert, Andrew Morgan, Jeff (Brittany) Morelock, Shelby (William) Owen, Michael Morelock, Christian Morelock, Noah Morelock, Alaina Morgan, and Duane Morgan; 11 great grandchildren; as well as many other family members including nieces, nephews and cousins.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Rose Morgan; an infant sister and an infant brother, both passing at birth; a brother, Lawrence LeRoy Morgan; and two grandchildren, Roman Morelock and Christopher Michael Rick.

A friendly get-together to honor Roy’s life will take place Monday, August 31, 2020 from 11AM-1PM at the Green Room in Centerville.  In lieu of flowers, Memorials have been established to Jodi Morelock, to be determined at a later date, and may be mailed to Lange Funeral Home and Crematory, C/O Morgan Family, 1900 South 18th Street, Centerville, Iowa 52544.  Lange Funeral Home of Centerville has been entrusted with caring for the Morgan family.     Condolences may be shared online at www.langefh.com.
