Charles Scott Manuel Sr.

Charles Scott Manuel Sr, age 56 of Newville, passed away August 25, 2020 at home. Born December 18, 1963 in Harrisburg, son of the late George W. Sr. and Margaret C. (Funk) Manuel. Charles worked for 32 years at Giant Food Distribution Center in the maintenance department. Charles loved his kids and family and was a passionate Philadelphia Eagles Fan, with a collection of Eagles memorabilia to prove it. He contributed to the United Way with a deduction from every paycheck for the last 32 years. Charles is survived by his wife, Dena M. Shover, Newville; children, Charles Scott Manuel Jr., Newville; Kayce Manuel, Newville; Tyler Manuel, Newville and Kayla Manuel, Greencastle, formerly of Newville and brothers, George W. Manuel Jr. and wife, Thelma, Camp Hill and Craig M. Manuel and wife, Sherry, New Bloomfield. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Brenda L. Manuel. Friends will be received from 6-7pm Monday August 31, 2020 at the Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Rd Carlisle. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the United Way of Carlisle and Cumberland County 145 S. Hanover Street Carlisle, PA 17013.
