Marshall Clifford Woodland New Waterford It is with deep sadness that we the family of Marshall Clifford Woodland announce his passing on August 21, 2020 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital in Sydney. Born in New Waterford on December 23, 1943, he was the son of the late Malcom and Hazel (Blanchard) Woodland. Marshall worked in the local coal mines for many years before he started fishing full time. He loved being outdoors, hunting, fishing and being in nature. He was a well known fisherman who enjoyed his time on the water. He loved spending time with his family, where he was always surrounded by their love. Marshall is survived by his partner Bernice MacNeil; sons Marshall, Joey (Shannon); daughter Sheri (David), with whom he shared a very special bond; special daughter Barbara (Brian); grandchildren Cody (Kayla) Brenna, Lucas and Aubrey Woodland, William and Jacob Amerson; great grandchildren Natalie and Callie; brother Herbie (Barb); sisters Donna (Kevin) White, Margie (Jimmy) Poirier; brother in law Neil (Tricia) MacKinnon; very close friend Mickey Bennett; many nieces, nephews, relatives and good friends. Besides his parents, Marshall was predeceased by his wife Ella. Cremation has taken place and visitation will be held on Thursday August 27, 2020 from 5-7pm. Due to Covid 19 restrictions, masks and social distancing are required. Interment will take place at a later date. Donations in Marshall’s memory can be made to the charity of one’s choice.
