Edmund Langley Cooley

Edmund Langley Cooley, 69, of Cleveland, TN, passed away Sunday, July 26, 2020. Mr. Cooley proudly served his country in the Marine Corps, Golf Company 2nd Battalion 7th Marine 1st Marine Division, 3rd Platoon 3rd Squad during the Vietnam War and received many honors, including a Purple Heart. He was a carpenter and a farrier. His hobbies included scuba diving, taking care of his horses and loving his children. He is survived by his wife of 7 years, Patience Cooley of Cleveland, TN; sons: Eddie Cooley, Christopher Cooley and Joshua Cooley; brother: John Cooley; sisters: Joan Roberson;, Catherine (Bob) Powell, Mary Ellen (Jim) Bateski; brother-in-law: Charlie Schunk; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his sister, Jeanette Schunk. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL with miliary honors provided by U.S. Marines and Sumter County Honor Guard. Arrangements by Purcell Funeral Home, Bushnell, Florida.
