James McGuire

<p>James McGuire, 86, of Shenandoah, passed away on Friday, August 21st at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, Pa.</p> <p>Born on February 21st, 1934, in Hazleton, Pa, he was the son of the late George and Eva &ldquo;Comrad&rdquo; McGuire.&nbsp; He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict.&nbsp; Jim was a member of the A.P. Damato Medal of Honor Legion Post 792 in Shenandoah, a member of the former Shenandoah Archery Club, he was a member of the Pennsylvania Archery Association, the NRA, and the Pennsylvania Rifle and Pistol Association.&nbsp; Jim was an avid archer and a competitive rifle and pistol shooter.</p> <p>Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, George and Joann McGuire of Latrobe, Pa.</p> <p>He is survived by his caregivers, Sharon and Leo James Kowalsky, Shenandoah, several nieces and nephews, and close friends.</p> <p>Scripture Services will be conducted on Tuesday, August 25th at 11am in St. John&rsquo;s Cemetery, Brandonville, Pa and will be officiated by Pastor Jay Serafin.&nbsp; Military Honors will immediately follow services and will be conducted by the A.P. Damato American Legion Post 792.&nbsp;</p> <p>A visitation will be held on Tuesday morning from 9am to 10:30am at the Oravitz Home for Funerals Inc, 40 N. Jardin St, Shenandoah.&nbsp;</p> <p>The Oravitz Home for Funerals Inc, Shenandoah are in care of the arrangements.</p> <p>Due to Covid-19, all recommended social distancing, mask requirements, and public safety guidelines will be followed.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>

Obituary

James McGuire, 86, of Shenandoah, passed away on Friday, August 21st at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, Pa.

Born on February 21st, 1934, in Hazleton, Pa, he was the son of the late George and Eva “Comrad” McGuire.  He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict.  Jim was a member of the A.P.
