<p>It is with great sadness that the family of the late JOE HODDER of Marystown announces his passing. Jo passed away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre, Burin, on Friday, August 22nd, 2020 at the age of 84.</p><p><br></p><p>Joe was predeceased by his infant son, Ray; parents, Heber &amp; Dinah Hodder; parents-in-law, Albert &amp; Isabella Young; 2 infant brothers; and 1 infant sister.</p><p><br></p><p>Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories are his wife, Lorena (Lo) of 60 years; sons, Aubrey Hodder (Wanda) of Marystown and Dean Hodder (Tracy) of Springdale; daughters, Ivy Young (Geddis) of PEI, Noreen Banfield (Roger) of Marystown; and Joanne Hodder (Ches Nolan) of Mooring Cove; 11 grandchildren, Deanne Young, Joey Young, Kyle Hodder, Kelsey Hodder, Hilary Banfield, Jake Banfield, Josh Banfield, Colby Hodder, Jody Hodder, Kurtis Kerr and Nicky Kerr; 3 great-grandchildren, Jaxson, Alexis, and Jayson; sisters, Jennie Hodder (Anthony) of Marystown, Minnie Bond (Frank) of Frenchman’s Cove, Addie Hodge (John) of Marystown, Anne Benson (Ken) of Little Hearts Ease, Myrtle Kelly (Bill) of Burin, and Brenda Avery (Stan) of Long Beach; brothers, Sam Hodder (Mary) of Marystown, and Tom Hodder (Ann Marie) of Marystown; plus a large number of cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and co-workers of Local 20 Marystown.</p><p><br></p><p>The Hodder family would like to extend a special Thanks to Dr. William Moulton for the wonderful care and compassion shown to them during this difficult time.</p><p><br></p><p>The Hodder Family will accept visitors at Peninsula Funeral Home in Creston South. In order to maintain social distancing and to follow the public health advisory of COVID 19, a walk through visitation will take place on Sunday, August 23rd from 7pm – 9pm; and Monday, August 24th from 10am – 12noon, 2pm – 4pm and 7pm – 9pm. A maximum of 20 people at any one time permitted. A private funeral service will be held at Peninsula Funeral Home, Creston South on Tuesday, August 25th, 2020.
