Mrs. Almurtha Tweet Heard, 86, of 894 Lee Road 235, Smiths, AL passed Friday, December 11, 2015 at Canterbury Health Facility, Phenix City, AL. Funeral service will be held at 12 noon EST, Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church, Phenix City, AL with Rev. E. Merle Brown, Interim Pastor and Dr. J. H. Flakes, III, eulogist. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday, December 15, 2015 from 1 - 8 p.m. EST and family will receive guest from 5 - 8 p.m. EST according to Taylor Funeral Home, Inc. Mrs. Heard was born March 3, 1929 in Salem, AL to the late Rev. Menzo Wilson and the late Annie Moore Wilson. She was a member of Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church and a member of the Morning Star Chapter #734 O.E.S. Survivors include three sons, Earl (Anna) Heard of Gadsden, AL; Jerold (Wanda) Heard of Hampton, VA and Carl Heard of Smiths, AL; two daughters, Dianne (Terry) Jakes of Salem, AL and Lois Sharp of Phenix City, AL; eight grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren, greatgreat grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
