Owensboro, KY. – Russell Bruce Bruner, 73, passed away on Saturday August, 15th at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital with family members by his side. Russell was born on July 8, 1947 in Evansville, IN to the late Ralph and Cleta (Laymon) Bruner of Folsomville, IN. Russell served in the United States Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. Russell was a Respiratory Therapist for 42 years and retired from Owensboro Health in 2013. He was a member of Zion Baptist Church in Henderson, KY. He is survived by his wife Glenda of 17 years, daughters, Ashley (Brian) Bailey and Whitley (Paul) Southard of Henderson, KY, stepdaughters, Hillary (Wes) Wolfe of Waverly, KY and Ashley R. Ford of Evansville, IN; eight grandchildren, Kate Bailey, Gunner, Layla, and Sophia Southard, Sydney and Garrison Thomas, Alyx Wolfe, and Gabrielle O’Neil, brothers, Randy (Linda), Ronald (Greta), Raleigh (Alyssa), Richard (Kela), and Rodney Bruner, sisters, Marcia Neff, Brenda Ransom (Albert), and Becky Busing (Mike), and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday August, 18th at Koehler Funeral Home in Boonville, IN. Visitation will be from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm. Graveside services will follow at Folsomville Cemetery.
