Briana Marie Yates, 32, walked into the forest on July 26, 2020 in Anchorage, Alaska. Briana was born in Juneau, Alaska on May 30, 1988. She is survived by her daughters, Mia Winter and Adriana Yates Cook. Father Randy Cook and Step-Mother Javan Cook of Metlakatla, Alaska. Mother Sigrid Yates of Craig, Alaska. Brothers Chevy Cook, Eric Cook, Cameron Cook and Elijah Caspersen. Sisters Kennedy Cook and Londyn Cook. She was a family person, she loved her family. Briana enjoyed drawing, painting and writing. She loved taking her daughters to the playground and Indian Dancing when in Metlakatla and doing creative activities with them. Her smile was contagious and lit up the room. She was deeply rooted in her culture. She loved to Indian Dance, bead and draw Native Art. She was a people person, she made friends everywhere she went. She loved hanging with her friends and being goofy. She was beautiful inside and out, she would help anyone that needed it. She was baptized at the Presbyterian Church in Metlakatla and was a member of the Metlakatla Indian Community.
