William G. McMahan, Jr. 89, of Andrews passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2020. Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life at 10:00 AM Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel in Andrews. Dr. Gregory Young is officiating. Interment will follow in the Andrews Old Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM at the funeral home. William was born on October 16, 1930 in Denison, Texas to William and Lina Painter McMahan, Sr. He married Helen Burleson on December 27, 1974 in Denison, Texas. They came to Andrews in 1974. William was an elder at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Serving in the Army, Navy and the Army reserves for his country was an honor for him. He was a collector of antiquities and loved to take his grandkids to school every morning. William never met a stranger and made friends wherever he went. He was preceded in death by his wife Helen in 2006. William is survived by his son, Mark and wife, Del of Goodyear, Arizona, daughter, Sue Ann McMahan of Andrews, Texas, 2 grandchildren, Michelle McMahan and Kristie McMahan, 1 greatgrandchild Rayell McMahan, extended family, Greg and Marissa Young, Bria Young Snow and husband Ethan, Skyler Eliza Snow, Bridger Young, Lauren Young, Jenna Young and Kaitlyn Young.
