Jeremy Jay Curran, age 44, of Hayes Center, NE passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at his home in Hayes Center.

Jeremy was born October 3, 1975 in Imperial, NE to parents Donald and Carole (Leffler) Curran.  He was the youngest of five siblings who grew up in Hayes Center, graduating from Hayes Center High School with the Class of 1994. 

Following high school, Jeremy attended Mid Plains Community College in North Platte, NE. He graduated with a Degree in Diesel Mechanics.  Jeremy then moved to the Denver area where he worked before enlisting in the Army.  Jeremy honorably served his country in the United States Army as a member of the Screaming Eagles Nightstalker’s 101st Airborne Special Forces Unit.  During his years of service, Jeremy received the following decorations: Distinguished Flying Cross, Bronze Star Medal with Combat Distinguished Device “V”, Purple Heart, Air Medal (2nd Award), Army Superior Unit Award, National Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Expert Marksmanship Qualification Badge with Grenade Bar, Marksman Marksmanship Qualification Badge with Rifle Bar, and Aircraft Crew Man Badge. Jeremy was honorably discharged in 2003.

Jeremy enjoyed hunting in southwest Nebraska and was previously employed by CBS Construction in McCook.

Jeremy was preceded in death by his father, Donald Curran; and one brother, Brad Curran.

Those left to celebrate his life include his mother, Carole Curran of Hayes Center; brother, Dale Curran of Holbrook, NE; two sisters, Cherri (Steve) Broz and Janeen (Bob) Rosno, all of Hayes Center; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. 

A private family Memorial Service with Military Honors will be held in the Hayes Center Cemetery with Pastor Jean Miller officiating. 

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Hayes Center Volunteer Fire and Rescue, Hayes County Volunteer Fire Department, 500 Tate Ave, Hayes Center, NE 69032.
