Grace Clark Obituary

Grace Maria (Paulson) Clark was born February 28th, 1921 to Theodore and Emma (Johnson) Paulson on their family farm southeast of Revere MN. One of seven children she attended country school through the eighth grade. On Dec 20th, 1939, she married Leon Clark of rural Storden MN and bore 6 children. They farmed in several locations in Cottonwood County before settling on a farm north of Storden MN in 1950. In 1966, they sold the farm and moved to Windom, MN, where Grace worked for several years at The Toro Company before retiring to her many hobbies. Throughout her life, Grace was renowned for her love of small furry friends. In her later years, she shared her life with 3 wonderful cats. An avid gardener, she loved flowers and took great pride in her garden. She loved to crochet; many new borns enjoyed Grandma Gracie’s baby blankets. Additionally, she made many hand sewn quilts, giving them away to family, friends and neighbors. However, her greatest gift to all of us was her wonderful radiance; a smile, infectious laugh, positive attitude and mischievous sense of humor. Grace passed away on May 11, 2017, at her home in Windom at the age of 96. She is survived by her children Janice Johnson (James) of Mineral Point WI, David Clark (Susan) of Lee’s Summit MO, Nancy Ashenmacher (Tom) of Hudson WI, Mary Strausser (Kenneth) of Pequot Lakes MN Michael Clark (Niki) of Hopkins MN, nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and special friend of the family Abdul Hyatt Wahab (Danielle) of Roswell GA. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Clarence, Leonard, Roy, Sherman and Raymond; her husband Leon and daughter Shirley.
