Donna Allen

  Donna Tucker Allen died peacefully in her sleep on August 11, 2020.  She was a graduate of Archbishop Prendergast High and had worked with many years at Shared Medical Systems, Siemens Health Services and Cerner.  She is survived by her Mary-Jo Tucker (sister), Caroline Kerrigan (nee Tucker) (sister), Kevin Kerrigan (brother-in-law), Michelle Tucker (sister-in-law), Nathaniel (nephew), Caitlin (niece), Mary-Kate (niece), Ryan (nephew) and Brielle (niece).  Her brother, Brian Tucker as well as her parents, Joseph and Mary Tucker,  preceded her in death.  She is also survived by countless friends and coworkers who loved her.

  She was beloved by all.  Donna had a positive magical impact on everyone she met.  You were just better to have met her.  She cared about you and wanted to help.  To say that her death made a hole in our lives feels too small a statement.  If our lives were quilts, she would have been the favorite center piece that connected to all other pieces with threads of laughter, care, and compassion.

  She had a way of giving people the funniest nicknames and her storytelling captivated her audience.  She was a wonderful mimic and had her audience trying to catch their breath because they were laughing so hard.  She did really bad impressions of famous people.  Her John Wayne and Jimmy Cagney sounded the same but they made us laugh anyway.  Her only successful impression of a famous person was Columbo (the TV Detective) and she would walk around in character hilariously trying to solve our mysteries.

  She was an indie rock expert.  Her playlist was varied with artists across the musical spectrum.  She could talk music with any generation.   She loved to cook and have everyone over.  She made the best tacos, chili and potato salad.

  She was the best aunt in the world to her nieces and nephews and was really a second mom to them.  She knew just the words to help.  Her shoulder offered a resting place for someone to leave their woes.  She listened and did not judge.  And then always offered a hand to get to a solution.  She was never too busy.  In fact, she offered all of this support to her family, friends and coworkers.  When you sat with Donna, you immediately felt like you were in a cocoon of safety and comfort.

  At work, she was referred to as Radar O-Reilley.  (For those who don’t know who that is, google MASH.)  She always delivered the solution before someone even expressed a problem.  One manager said she knew Donna could read her mind.

  To lose Donna is monumentally heart-breaking to all of us.  How lucky are we to have had Donna in our lives for such a short time?  The price of this terrible grief is a small price to pay.
