Phone Number: 1-641-715-3900 Extension: 336778 Edward “Ed” Frick passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2020, at St. Peter’s Hospital, Melville. He was 98 years of age. Edward was born into a family of three boys and eight girls to John and Maria (nee Schmidt) Frick on April 25, 1922, and is survived by his sisters, Elsie (Carl) Hollinger and Edna (Alec) Figgitt. Edward was always a farmer at heart and began farming at the age of 12 on his parents’ farm in the Fenwood/Duff area until he met and married Florence Schick on November 10, 1948. He carried on farming on his own farm with Florence at his side until they retired to Melville in 2001. Together they had five children, seven grandchildren and five 5 great-grandchildren. Ed’s heart continued to be involved in the family farm until the day he died. Edward was predeceased by his wife, Florence Frick, on March 19, 2005; he leaves to cherish his memory: daughter Kathy and Ken Piasta of Regina; son Lyle and Kathy Frick of Peachland, BC, along with their children and grandchildren, Jason, Jodi (Justin) and daughter Lily, and Jillian (Nick) and daughter Isla; son Blair and Laurie Frick of Melville, along with their children and grandchildren, Jordan (Brittany) and Rebecca (Clint) and their daughters, Madelyn and Annabelle; daughter Carmon Frick and Allan Wilson of Winfield, AB, and her son, Tiz (Courtney) and their son Mateo; and daughter Margo Frick and JJ Handel of Redwater, AB, and their son, Jascha.
