In Altamonte Springs, Florida, Lee Manuel Herring Jr., 68, was called home to his heavenly father on Monday, August 10, 2020.Lee was born in Fort Myers, Florida, on December 6, 1951, to the late Lee Manuel and Katherine Herring Sr. Lee graduated from Dunbar Senior High School, class of 1969. Following graduation, he served with the U.S Air Forces in Okinawa, Japan, during the Vietnam War. His love for aircraft leads him to join the Air Forces. He had dreams of becoming a pilot and could talk for hours about his experiences during the military and how an aircraft works. After leaving the Air Force, he worked for AT&T in Miami, Florida, and was transferred to Orlando, Florida, in 1997 until he retired in February of 2014. He enjoyed watching old cowboy movies and the cartoon the boondocks. He enjoyed life to the fullest; he was outgoing and friendly and was coined Mr. Miami once he moved to Orlando.In addition to his parents, Lee was predeceased by a sister, Valerie Herring.His loving and supportive family survives Lee, his daughter Theresa Herring, his sons Cornelius Herring and Lee Manuel Herring III, his grand-daughter Shaque Murphy, his great-grandson Carter Herring; his brother Kenneth (Eva) McClover, two sisters Barbara Sawyerr and Marcia Mac Lean. He had a special bond with his nephew Jonathan Herring and niece Sylvia McClover. An exceptional and devoted partner Maria Wilkerson, a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins who will forever love, miss, and cherish his memories.
