Joan P Kehoe Obituary

Joan P. Quigley-Kehoe of Ocean View, DE departed her earthly body and earned her heavenly wings on Wednesday, August 5th, 2020 while surrounded by her loving family.

Joan was born on April 12th, 1935 in Malden, MA to the late Michael S. and Beatrice R. (McGonagle) Conway.  In addition to her parents. Joan was preceded in death by her brothers Frank Conway, James Conway, and sister Grace (Conway) Cannon.  In addition, she was predeceased by her first husband, James F. Quigley, Jr. of Ocean View in 1991 and her late husband Michael J. Kehoe of Ocean View in 2001.

In her early years, Joan raised four boys while working from home as a Dutchmaid Sales Associate.  Later in life, Joan became a CNA who provided home healthcare to elderly patients through Beebe Medical Center.  Joan was known as a Prayer Warrior for Mariners Bethel United Methodist Church where she was passionate about the Rock of Ages Ministry, Hope Center Youth Program, and Feed My Sheep outreach programs.  Likewise, Joan was an enthusiastic member of Delaware Quilts quilting club where she was known to regale her fellow quilters with her zany antics and amazing stories that left them in stitches.

Joan is survived and will be profoundly missed by her children James M. Quigley of Atlanta, GA, Daniel F. Quigley and his wife Lisa of Pasadena, MD, Patrick J. Quigley and his wife Trish of Frankford, DE, Frank W. Quigley of Harbeson, DE, and her adopted family Laura and Rodney Hufford of Millville, DE and their children.  In addition, she is survived by her grandchildren Nathaniel Quigley, Danielle Quigley, Dayna Quigley, Courtney Burg, Jeremy Burg, and Kenneth Watson and his wife Nikki, along with her great-grandchildren Sadie Quigley, Morgan Watson, Logan Watson, Regan Watson, and Caragan Watson, all of whom cherished their Nana.  Last but certainly not least, she will be greatly missed by her grand-dogs Allie and Chesney who were always happy to provide Nana with their puppy love.

A special thank you is extended to Seasons Hospice, most especially Hubie, Mel and Linda, for their tireless care and support of our dear mother.  We are eternally grateful for the care, compassion and strength displayed to our family over the past few months.

A public viewing (with appropriate Covid precautions – mask required) will be held on Monday August 10th, 2020 from 11am – 1pm at Mariner’s Bethel United Methodist Church located at 81 Central Avenue, Ocean View, DE 19970.  The funeral service (with appropriate Covid precautions) will be held on Monday August 10th, 2020 at 1pm at Mariner’s Bethel United Methodist Church.  Interment will follow the service in the adjoining church cemetery.

For those who cannot attend due to travel limitations or Covid concerns, the funeral service will be recorded and uploaded for viewing.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Mariners Bethel United Methodist Church’s community outreach programs: Rock of Ages Ministry, Hope Center Youth Program, or Feed My Sheep, all of which were near and dear to our mother.
