Austin "Buddy" W. McKenzie
<p>Austin “Buddy” W. McKenzie, Jr. age 67, of Gautier passed away on Thursday, Aug. 6, 2020 at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans surrounded by his family, friends and Pastors.</p> <p>He was born July 17, 1953 in Laurel, Mississippi and grew up in Tylertown, MS. He has been a resident of Gautier since 1974. Buddy was a former Pipefitter for Ingalls Shipbuilding and worked for his Father-in-law at Andy’s Body Shop in Pascagoula. Buddy was currently self employed for his business, McKenzie Lawncare. He was a longtime member of Spanish Trail Baptist Church for over 20 years where he served as a Trustee and an Usher of the church. He is preceded in death by his parents, Austin W. and Ina McKenzie.</p> <p>Buddy was survived by his wife of 17 years, Sandy Fell McKenzie; ); son, Montie Grier; step- daughter, Honor Six (Chad); two sisters, Jerry M. Thomas and Jeannie Verzwyvelt; three grandchildren, Jeremy and Emily Six; Caija Grier; special nephew, Jordan Fell; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other family member, and loving church family.</p> <p>Funeral Service will be Monday, Aug. 10, 2020, 5:00pm, Spanish Trail Baptist Church in Gautier. Friends may visit from 4:00-5:00pm at the church. His burial will be privately held by his family only. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Acute Myeloid Leukemia Association and Gideon International.</p> <p><strong>Please wear a face mask and social distancing will be necessary at this services</strong>.</p>Obituary
